We are part of the largest & fastest growing network of Jewish camps in the world. Camp Gan Israel Southampton is committed to providing a superb day camp experience for Jewish children in the Hamptons. Campers will enjoy a wide range of exciting activities, in a warm and spirited atmosphere. We offer outstanding athletics, sports & creative arts programs, under the guidance of professional instructors who are highly qualified in their fields. Trips, special days, shows, carnivals and family oriented programs are also important aspects of our camp and add to the fun.

More About Our Camp

Gan Israel is much more than a physical break from the school routine and winter activities. It’s a comprehensive program designed to strengthen the body and soul. It provides your child with a rich and wholesome summer vacation of fun and excitement along with friendship and meaningful educational experiences. 

Camp Sites

Our Mini Gan program takes place at the Southampton Montessori School adjacent to the Shinnecock golf club. The beautiful grounds of 2 and 1/2 acres are completely private and provide for a safe and secure camp environment.

Our Junior and Pioneer program takes place at Southampton Stonybrook  College Campus. With 80 acres of sports fields, tennis courts, basketball courts and an indoor gym.

Staff

Child development is the most significant ingredient in a healthy camp experience. This is why our staff is the real secret to our success. Our experienced counselors are known for their personal warmth and ability to care for each child as an individual. Many staff members return year after year, lending experience and continuity to all programs. Each counselor is a role model for our children, promising them friendship which will last forever! Their love for the children is surpassed only by the children’s love for them.

Culture

Gan Israel prides itself on its exceptional staff. All our staff come with prior camp experience and a desire to work with kids. We are dedicated to small groups with exceptional staff supervision. This assures the best possible care and instruction for our campers. Our counselors are highly trained, dedicated and experienced and are fully trained in First Aid and CPR.  
  
Sports
Campers will participate in various sports and receive expert coaching from our professional sports coach. With patience and encouragement the children will develop good sportsmanship and teamwork  as well as confidence.

Gymnastics

Gymnastics with its basic component of coordination, flexibility, strength and balance provides the foundation to develop an individual's inherent sports potential. Our program provides top quality gymnastic instruction that will be enjoyable and high energy.

Music and Creative Movement 

Our music together instructor will lead children in singing, dancing and creative movement using different instruments and a variety of props.

Art and Ceramics

Our talented art instructor, Gale Altemare, will guide the children through different art projects using a variety of exciting mediums. The children will bring home their projects when they are completed.

Jewish Culture

Exciting hands on activities, songs,  stories, Challah baking and Shabbat celebrations are all part of the unique Gan Israel experience and will imbue our campers with a great sense of pride in their Jewish heritage, and love for the land of Israel.

Special Activities and Events

Baking, weekly barbecues, magic shows, hands on science led by the LI Science Center, concerts, petting zoo, carnivals and dress up days add so much to the excitement of camp and challenge the children to develop their talents.

Trips

We will have one weekly trip to the children's favorite places: Berry picking, the Aquarium,  Mattituck Farm & Petting Zoo, Mini Golf, Boomer's Family Fun, Long Island Game Farm, Boating and shows at the Parrish Art Museum.

Mini Gan *

Our Mini Gan program is under the direction of experienced and nurturing early childhood teachers. We promise love and care in a specially designed program where little ones enjoy many different activities. The teachers connect to the children in a very warm and personal way. This makes first time separation a breeze! Some of the special first time experiences we offer: water activities and swimming in our kiddie pool, gymnastics, science, music & creative movement, arts & crafts, nature, sports, baking and outdoor play in our playground.

*Our four year olds enjoy instructional swim once a week, with our Red Cross swim director, Vicky at the Recreational Center's 25 meter pool. They also enjoy T-ball and soccer with our sport's coach Nelson.
