Activities and Adventures

A Family Affair
Special events for the entire family are scheduled throughout the summer. They include a lively Shabbat dinner, ‘A day in the life of your camper’ and a mock Jewish wedding. Our detailed event calendars and camp newspapers keep you abreast of all your children’s activities.

Creative Hands / Crafts
Camp Gan Israel’s innovative arts and crafts teach the children to be creative and imaginative. The crafts incorporate various themes in Jewish life as well as fun and useful projects. Campers are sure to proudly look back at the craft of their own hands well after the summer is over. CGI has hired an experienced arts n’ crafts instructor.

Ligets, Camera, Action!
Comedy skits, talent shows, and auction days are just a few of the programs that challenge the children to develop their innate talents.

Play ball!
Supervised by our experienced instructors, children develop sportsmanship, confidence, and the ability to enjoy all sports, including baseball, basketball, soccer, flag football, kickball, creative movement, and more.

CGI on the Go Field Trips
Gan Israel holds regular "trip days" which include berry picking, Mattituck Farm and petting zoo, the Aquarium and more. These exciting adventures allow our children to really show their true CGI spirit.

Swimming
The Wetter the Better!
Camp Gan Israel is extremely proud of its swimming program under the direction of certified Red Cross lifeguards, and experienced swim instructor Vicky Boneguro. We swim three times a week  at the 25 meter pool at the Southampton Recreational Center. Also, the campers receive swim instructions twice a week. Each camper is tested at the beginning of the summer, and grouped accordingly. We offer small group swim instruction, and as each child advances s/he graduates to the next swim level. The children are very proud of their new swimming skills they learnt during the summer at Camp Gan Israel.

Special Programs  

Drama Workshop

Educational workshops use theater as a tool for social change. Through ensemble building games, movement exercises, and improvisation, participants learn to express their joy and air their grievances creatively. The children will develop stories into short plays. Each age group will produce a short play and present it at a grand finale.

Tennis*

Our tennis program is designed with the camper's age and abilities in mind. Led by our experienced tennis instructors, Delio and Esther, the children will be organized into small groups and have fun on court while learning to master the game. The children play tennis twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays, for one hour and a half.

* Camp Gan Israel provides all tennis equipment.

For ages 5-12

All trips are supervised by camp personnel.

Extra staff will accompany campers.

Montauk Bus Company provides all bus transportation for Camp Gan Israel Southampton.
